About JBC Language

Founded in 1989, JBC Language was formed to promote understanding and friendship between Japan and the United States. JBC offers an intimate setting in which international students from many countries can study English or Japanese. At JBC, we focus on meeting the educational needs of each student through individual attention and student participation.

With no more than eight students per instructor, class sizes are kept small. Our learning programs will help you develop the skills necessary for successful communication in your target language, whether English or Japanese, and all in a friendly and comfortable environment.

JBC Language is authorized by the U.S. Government to issue I-20 Forms for F-1 (student) visas. If you wish to study on an F-1 visa, you must take at least 18 hours of classes per week, choosing among a variety of courses offered. You may combine Japanese and English courses to fulfill the 18-hour requirement.

JBC provides a wide range of courses for students of both English and Japanese. English as a Second Language (ESL) and Japanese as a Second Language (JSL) courses are offered at all levels. We offer programs to improve conversational skills in business or casual settings. Students learn to carry on daily conversations, read newspapers, and develop writing skills. We also provide assistance in preparing for standardized proficiency exams including the TOEFL (English), IELTS (English) and the Nihongo Noryoku Shiken (Japanese).

We are also willing and able to customize a program of private instruction to meet the specific needs of any student.

JBC Language has merged with Vision Education Inc in January 2005. As a result of this merger we reinforce, strengthen and widen our curriculum, staff, resources, and student body in order for us to serve our students in their real needs and to provide them with more personalized attention. JBC Language and Vision Education offer complete services from learning English as a second language to placing foreign nurses for employment in various medical facilities in the United States.
